        Marriage Counseling

What is marriage and couples counseling?

Two people are asking for help to improve their relationship. These issues usually revolve around trust and communication skills. They often seek services when they are on the brink of a breakup or divorce. Couples go through five stages in their committed relationships.

        1. Meeting each other

        2. Deciding to be together

        3. Disillusionment (most divorces occur at this stage)

        4. Going deeper in their understanding of each other

        5. Giving back to the community as a couple

There is always more to learn about each other. However, the success of a couple’s work is based upon being accountable for our part in the unhappiness. If not, we will simply repeat the pattern with the next partner.

What can you expect in the sessions?

        1. Meeting for 60 minutes weekly or biweekly

        2. Showing up on time and ready to do the work.

        3. Willingness to show vulnerability and take responsibility.

        4. Learn how to communicate with ease and authenticity.

        5. Create a new relationship paradigm that really works for both of you.

        6. Walk away with the understanding that your past interferes with the present unless understood and integrated.

        7. Be willing to stop addictive behaviors that are blocking intimacy. i.e., alcohol, social media, food, shopping, gambling, etc.

"Audrey gave a presentation to a group that I was involved in. Her presentation was so professional and so enlightening. Audrey was very knowledgeable of QHHT and explained it very well. Our group was so excited and pleased to have had her share this QHHT to us. I would refer her to all my friends, I feel she is the best person to sit with for a QHHT session."

        Recent Testimonials

"Audrey is an amazing therapist and person. She helped me through the pandemic year of isolation. I’m not sure I would have survived that time emotionally were it not for our weekly online sessions. I was also fortunate to meet Audrey this past June for a QHHT session that was enlightening and immensely helpful. I highly recommend Audrey Oxenhorn!"

        Recent Testimonials

"Audrey is so compassionate and kind that opening up to her comes naturally. She is highly knowledgeable and wise when discussing topics that others may find uncomfortable. She is patient and caring and will always go above and beyond to provide comfort and guidance. Thank you, Audrey, for everything, as I could not say I would be where I am today without the acceptance I felt from her and her sessions."
