Just returned from my bucket list trip to Paris for a Seine River Cruise, I am so glad that I went. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I traveled with a small group tour. We explored Paris for 3 days and then went on a 7-day River Cruise on the Seine River. Normandy is beautiful. We saw amazing scenery, replete with beautiful wild white swans swimming alongside the boat and castles on the hillsides.
1. Paris is friendly for the most part. In 2013, There was an ad campaign, Do you speak Touriste?
Parisians were asked to be friendlier, and they have changed. However, if your French is limited, they
are not very patient.
3. There is still resentment from both the English and The French that we took so long to enter World War II.
4. Having met quite a few people on the journey, I was surprised at the lack of curiosity. I have always
liked hearing stories and yet I found people did not ask questions and were not curious about each other.
5. Parisians really do say OOH La La.
6. The Cows- French cows are treated royally. They get to eat the most luxurious green grass and their
dairy products are delicious. My favorite is the ice cream.
7. Covid is alive and well. Some of the people in the group returned with a healthy dose of it. It’s not surprising since we were in spaces with thousands and thousands of visitors.
8. I love that I can now read about the Eiffel Tower and know that the Iron Lady really exists.
9. I am so glad that I went and I am so glad that I returned safely and easily.
Thanks for reading. I enjoyed sorting through my memories.
